Hybrid Workshop -3:30pm - 5:30pm on Tuesday, 19th May

This workshop is designed for students and recent graduates across all BSBI, GISMA and UE campuses 🌍.

💡 What’s the goal?
To help you understand workplace etiquette in France, Germany and Spain - and confidently navigate their professional cultures.

⚠ Why it matters
Cultural differences can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. Without realizing it, international students may come across as impolite or unprepared. This session helps you avoid those pitfalls and build stronger professional relationships.

📚 What you’ll learn

  • 🕒 Concepts of time, space and punctuality
  • đŸ§‘â€đŸ’Œ Workplace hierarchies and expectations
  • 📏 Norms around personal space and communication styles
  • 🌍 Comparisons with cultures from major student home countries 

💬 Practical skills

  • How to behave in meetings and negotiations
  • Key manners, etiquette, and taboos in each country
  • What motivates (and demotivates) colleagues in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg, and Paris
  • How to build empathy and connect with international coworkers

  • 🌐 Effective networking strategies
  • 🔍 Cultural differences in communication and expectations across Germany, France and Spain

 ✹ The session is delivered in a hybrid mode. Students from Barcelona, Hamburg, Madrid, Potsdam and Paris can join online. The session will be held  in English.
